Alejandra's past issues with addiction meant that her check-in with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) was more than just a routine bureaucratic stopover--she could be detained and deported, and separated from her children. Alejandra's community and attorneys rallied around her in support, advocating to give her a second chance to stay in the United States.
