On the campaign trail, now President Biden made many promises to address harmful policies implemented by the Trump administration and to create an immigration system that respects human rights. With political tensions high, advocates persistently push the administration to realize this vision. In this panel presentation, experts from the National Immigrant Justice Center will provide highlights on asylum law, advances for protection for survivors of crimes in the U.S., the ping-pong politics impacting DACA recipients, developments on legalization efforts and ongoing litigation. We hope you can join us for this dynamic discussion showing how immigrants in our communities, volunteer attorneys, and NIJC staff experience a cautious hope in light of enduring challenges.

Presenters are: Lisa Koop, Associate Director of Legal Services; Trisha Teofilo Olave, Sr. Legal Supervisor; Vanessa Esparza-Lopez, Managing Attorney; Nayna Gupta, Associate Director of Policy; Keren Zwick, Director of Litigation
