This webinar will explore the history of immigration detention in Illinois, including the state’s new ban on immigration detention and the launch of the Midwest Immigrant Defenders Alliance as Illinois residents are sent to out-of-state detention centers. The training also will address what advocates should know about Castañon-Nava v. DHS, a settlement on warrantless ICE arrests and vehicle stops that goes into effect in June 2022.

NIJC provides CLE credit to all attorneys who attend live trainings and are licensed in Illinois. We must have the ARDC number to request CLE credit. The attorney should enter their ARDC number into the evaluation form within one week of the training. In the alternative, anyone who attends the live event may request a certificate of attendance in the evaluation form.
