Experts from the National Immigrant Justice Center provide an intensive training for pro bono attorneys on the relevant law and best practices for representing young people applying for asylum. NIJC staff guide participants through the basics of asylum law focusing on affirmative asylum, tips for working with children who have experienced trauma, and how to prepare and present a case at the asylum office. The goal of this training is to equip pro bono attorneys with the necessary tools to prepare affirmative asylum matters for immigrant children.
