Afghans who were paroled into the United States after July 31, 2021, have temporary authorization to remain in the United States and are eligible for certain public benefits. In order to remain in the United States permanently, most Afghan parolees will need to apply for a more permanent form of immigration relief.
 
NIJC is finalizing the legal resources it will be able to offer Afghan parolees who reside permanently in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Please check back soon for more information.
