In order to safeguard the health of our clients and staff in light of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the National Immigrant Justice Center’s Chicago office has made the following changes:
- We are suspending all in-person legal consultations until further notice. If you have an appointment already scheduled, an NIJC staff member will contact you by phone to reschedule or make other arrangements.
- All in-person NIJC legal clinics and pro bono trainings are canceled through April 1.
- If you need to call NIJC’s hotline on behalf of a detained family member:

Note: NIJC continues to monitor the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Illinois Department of Public Health, and will announce further changes as necessary. Staff who are able to fulfill their duties remotely are working from home, and all are being encouraged to follow the CDC’s health and wellness guidelines.
