U Visa Training for Pro Bono Attorneys

NIJC invites the legal community to a 90-minute virtual training on the U Visa process. The U Visa is a nonimmigrant visa for victims of certain crimes and provides a pathway to legal status, work authorization, and permanent residency. This training will include a primer on relevant immigration law and an overview of best practices for representing clients in their U Visa application. At the end of the training, we will discuss the next steps for attorneys ready to take on a U Visa case with NIJC.

NIJC provides CLE credit to all attorneys who attend live trainings and are licensed in Illinois. Anyone who attends live must submit our evaluation form within a week of the training to receive CLE credit. For attorneys from other states and individuals seeking DOJ accreditation, NIJC will provide a certificate to submit for credit from an approved out-of-state jurisdiction.
