Training for Attorneys: Representing Clients in Light of Recent Decisions on Asylum Eligibility

In recent weeks, the Board of Immigration Appeals and Attorney General have issued multiple decisions that attempt to narrow the definition of particular social groups, prevent asylum grants based on gender and family groups, and limit the recognition of persecution by non-state actors. In light of these decisions, the National Immigrant Justice Center will convene a training on defending our clients from the force of these decisions, with special focus on Seventh Circuit case law. This training is meant for attorneys and accredited representatives who currently handle asylum and withholding cases or are generally interested in how these legal developments affect our asylum seeker communities.

CLE credit will be provided for attorneys barred in Illinois.
