BIA Appeals Training for Pro Bono Attorneys
September 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDT
Cost: FreeAs immigration judges deny more asylum cases, NIJC needs pro bono attorneys with appellate experience to represent clients before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). At this 90-minute training, NIJC staff will give an overview of BIA appeals, provide drafting tips, and explain NIJC’s pro bono model for representing clients on appeal.
This pro bono opportunity requires no client-facing work and attorneys can be based anywhere in the country. Attorneys at medium and large law firms and corporations interested in writing BIA appeals for immigrant clients are encouraged to attend.
Anyone who attends live must submit our evaluation form within a week of the training to receive CLE credit. NIJC will provide CLE credit to all attorneys in Illinois and Indiana who submit their ARDC or State Bar number. For attorneys from other states and individuals seeking DOJ accreditation, NIJC will provide a certificate to submit for credit from an approved out-of-state jurisdiction.
The training will be hosted via webinar. Register now.
