Matthew Palmquist

Supervising Attorney, LGBTQ Immigrant Rights Initiative

Prior to joining NIJC, Matt worked as a staff attorney at the Young Center, advocating for unaccompanied immigrant kids in government custody, and Equal Justice Works (EJW) fellow at the Florence Project, representing detained LGBTQ+ migrants in their bond and removal proceedings. Between college and law school, he lived and worked in Mexico City as an English teacher. Matt graduated with a B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. In his free time, he loves running long distances, eating large meals, and learning new languages.
