Maggie O’Connor Gordon

Supervising Attorney, Immigrant Legal Defense Project

Maggie is a supervising attorney at the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC). Maggie started her career in commercial litigation before pivoting to immigration law at Legal Aid Chicago. There, she represented immigrants seeking immigration relief such as asylum, T and U Visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and adjustment of status. She also advocated for human trafficking survivors under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act in criminal proceedings against their traffickers. She earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
