Jennifer Babaie

Associate Director, Adult Detention Project

Jennifer Babaie is the Associate Director of the Adult Detention Project and oversees NIJC’s MIDA (Midwest Immigrant Defenders Alliance) portfolio. Jennifer has more than a decade of experience in immigration law and human rights. Previously, Jennifer was the Director of Advocacy and Legal Services at the Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, where they led the organization’s legal services, advocacy, and litigation. Jennifer has also worked at the International Refugee Assistance Project, Executive Office for Immigration Review, and Open Society Foundations. Jennifer received their Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University magna cum laude and their juris doctor and Master of Arts from The George Washington University.
