This case involved a Colombian family which was targeted by the FARC due to their status as landowners and suspected sympathizers with anti-FARC forces.  The Court granted the petition by published decision, holding as a matter of first impression that persecution due to wealth or the appearance of wealth could support a social ground theory for asylum cases.
