Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Chief Counsel (OCC) in Chicago has announced that after August 24, 2018, there will no longer be a drop box at the security desk at 525 W. Van Buren to serve documents on OCC.  This means that the only way to serve documents on OCC in Chicago after August 24, 2018, is by mail or by using the e-service process.  Information about the e-service process can be found here.  Please note that the OCC e-service process requires registration and approval, so must be done in advance of the date by which the attorney would need to serve documents on OCC.

If attorneys prefer to serve documents by mail in non-detained cases, those documents should be mailed to the ICE OCC office, 525 W. Van Buren Street, Suite 701, Chicago, IL 60607.

If attorneys prefer to serve documents by mail in detained cases, then those documents should be mailed to the ICE OCC Satellite office, 536 S. CLARK, # 5302, Chicago, IL 60605.

As a reminder, anytime an attorney serves a document on the immigration court/immigration judge, the attorney must also serve a copy on opposing counsel (OCC).
